जीवन ही या विश्वातली किती सुंदर घटना आहे! हा या विश्वाच्या समग्र अस्तित्वाचा किती पवित्र आणि मंगल घटक आहे! या जीवनाला आधार देणारं आपल्या शरीराचं एक इवलंसं घरटं हे आनंदाचं केवढं प्रसन्न अधिष्ठान आहे! या घरट्याचा भाग असलेलं निर्मळ मन आणि विवेकी बुद्धी हे सजीवाचं आणि खास करून माणसाचं केवढं मोठं वैभव आहे!

हे सुंदर जीवन आपण निरामय आनंदानं ओतप्रोत भरून टाकावं, या आनंदाचे सारे पैलू अनुभवावे, असं मला सतत वाटत आलं आहे. अर्थात, हे आपल्याकडून अगदी सहजपणानं व्हायला हवं आणि जीवनाचा खरा अर्थ हाच असल्याचं आपण जाणायला हवं!

….. कन्याकुमारी, तीन समुद्रांच्या उत्तुंग लाटांमध्ये मी चिंब चिंब भिजून जात होतो. पण खरं तर हा अत्युच्च आनंदाचा क्षण मी वयाच्या ५९ व्या नव्हे, तर १९ व्या वर्षीच अनुभवायला हवा होता. असं झालं असतं, तर माझ्या मनानं तो क्षण कितीतरी अधिक काळ जपला असता, त्यानं मला अधिक समृद्ध केलं असतं, फुलवलं असतं. आपण अनेकदा संपत्ती, सत्ता, प्रतिष्ठा, विविध वस्तू यांसारख्या गोष्टींच्या मागं धावताना असं फुलणं विसरून जातो. जीवनात कितीतरी गोष्टींचं चांदणं पसरलेलं असतं, पण त्यात भिजण्यासाठी आपल्याला उसंतच मिळत नाही. माझ्यासारख्यांच्या हातून घडलं ते घडलं – आता माझी सगळी धडपड आहे, ती आमच्या भावी पिढ्यांचं या चांदण्यात भिजायचं राहून जाऊ नये, म्हणून

We should do this very easily and we should know that this is the true meaning of life!

What a beautiful event in this world is life! What a sacred and auspicious element of the entire existence of this world! What a happy abode of happiness is the small nest of our body that supports this life! What a great glory of living beings and especially of humans is the pure mind and discerning intellect that are part of this nest!

I have always felt that we should fill this beautiful life with pure joy, experience all the aspects of this joy. Of course, this should be done very easily by us and we should know that this is the true meaning of life!

….. Kanyakumari, I was getting soaked in the high waves of the three seas. But in fact, I should have experienced this moment of supreme happiness not at the age of 59, but at the age of 19. If that had happened, my mind would have cherished that moment for a long time, it would have enriched me more, it would have blossomed me. We often forget to blossom like this while running after things like wealth, power, prestige, various things. There are many things in life that are covered in moonlight, but we do not get the opportunity to soak in them.
